Book Club
The SIR Book Club groups meet monthly to discuss a selected book, either fiction or non-fiction, usually the choice of the host SIR for the month. Book group size maxes out at 10 members. Meeting dates and times vary from group to group and are normally posted on our branch calendar.

Group #1 - Paul Sheckler
Our book club #1 is led by Paul Sheckler every third Tuesday of the month, starting at 7:30 p.m.
A sample of the books we have read: Peace Like a River, The Good Earth, Last Bus to Wisdom, The Circle and The Orpheus Clock.
Group #2 - Tony Fassiotto
Tony Fassiotto chairs group #2, AKA the "AM Book Club". This club usually meet on the first Monday of the month unless that falls on a holiday (2nd Monday).
A sample of the books we have read in the past year: Out on a Limb, The Lincoln Highway, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, The Bomber Mafia, Freedom, Premonition: The Pandemic Story, Master and Commander, A Woman of No Importance, The Four Winds, The Splendid and the Vile, Anxious People and The Long Petal of the Sea.

Group #3 - Denny Hintz
Our newest group (#3) is led by Denny Hintz with current members Bob Turner, Mike Thelen, Truman Howard, Bob Murphy, Jum Suffoletta, Duffy Jennings, and Peter Davis. We meet at 1pm on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Black Bear Diner in Danville.

Book Exchange
At our monthly luncheons, we also run a Book Exchange. Please note the table near the bar area. Members can bring in their used books or take from the vast selection. There is NO CHARGE! Al Hudock is the contact for the book exchange.
