The SIR Book Club meets monthly to discuss a selected book, either fiction or non-fiction, usually the choice of the host SIR for the month. We now have 3 book groups which max out around 10 members each.   

The evening book club (#1), led my Paul Sheckler, now is the third Tuesday of the month, starting at 7:30 p.m..  It precedes the SIR Wednesday luncheon meetings.  

  • A sample of the books we have read: Peace Like a River, The Good Earth, Last Bus to Wisdom, The Circle and The Orpheus Clock.
Al Hudock chairs our morning group (#2), now at ten members.  They usually meet on the first Monday of the month unless that falls on a holiday (2nd Monday).  
  • A sample of the books we have read in the past year is The Wright Brothers, The Jungle, The Celestine Prophecy, Killing Patton, Lawrence in Arabia, Sycamore Row, Memory Man & Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates. 
Our newest group (#3) is led by Denny Hintz with an assist from Pat Wilson. They plan to meet on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 3 pm. Details to follow.

At our monthly luncheons, please note the table on th left near the bar area. 

Members can bring in their used books or take from the vast selection.
