I have GREAT NEWS!

In September a new venue opened up to play Pickleball. It is at Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon. You can play every Sunday from 4-7 PM. They initially had eight courts open for play but were overwhelmed with people so they now have 9 courts, all indoors. The first three courts are for beginner and novice players with the second three for intermediate and the last three for advanced players. So if you have been thinking about playing and were afraid you would not do well, here you go. Play with players of beginning ability and have fun. The cost is $5 at the door only with a credit card or you can go online and buy a set from the San Ramon recreation department. There are a few blackout dates so look online to see when those occur: www.places2play.org/place?id=8066. There are people there to help you out and they provide balls and wooden paddles to use so you also don't have to worry about that. Let me know if I can help you in any way by emailing me or calling me. The other venues are still going strong if you want to play there. They are, The Methodist Church in Alamo, Pleasanton Middle School on Sunday mornings and Rudgear Park in Walnut Creek.

See you on the courts.

PICKLE BALL BASICS
Pickle Ball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis.

Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball (similar to a wiffle ball) over a net.

The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis, with a few modifications.
