Pedro is a card game played by a lot of people all over the world, especially in Europe. It is very popular especially with Italians. This is a co-ed group...wives and significant others are always welcome.
Someone said it is very similar to a game called Setback, and according to Hoyle, it can be found under a game called Chase. It is similar to bridge in that it is played with four people in 2 teams. The successful bidder calls trump, but the partner does not lay down his or her hand...he/she plays their hand.
There are 14 points in each hand. The successful bidder makes what he makes; the other team makes the remainder of the 14 points. If the bidder does not make his bid, he goes back what the bid was. 61 (or more) points are needed to win the game.
When? We play the second Wednesday of each month starting at 12:30 pm. Each session lasts from 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
Where? Games are played at my home at 1544 Mission Drive, Danville CA 94526. I have room for a maximum of 3 games and 12 players.
New to the game? New players are encouraged to come and learn the game. We will have an experienced player sit with you for a couple of games as you learn. (Bridge players will pick up this game in short order).
